When it comes to having a prolonged walk with God, two traits are absolutely necessary: having the right mindset and a great fortitude. Christine seems to be blessed with both traits. With proper guidance she will do great things for God.<\/em><\/p>\n

Megan: Tell me a little bit about yourself?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>I’m twenty one. I go to the University of Texas Arlington (UTA). I\u2019m majoring in Engineering; and I\u2019m originally from Florida then I moved to Houston. Now I live in the DFW area. I currently work at Chick-fil-et at the Parks Mall.<\/p>\n

Megan: What are some of your favorite hobbies and\/or something you would consider unique about yourself?<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>Definitely cooking (a.k.a baking), cookies are my favorite thing to bake, but sometimes I enjoy making cheese cakes as well. Plus\u2013 I love the creative arts.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Megan: How were you met\/invited to church?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>I was met during the fall semester in 2021. I was getting ready to go take my physics exam, and I got stopped by two of the sisters: Claudia & Ruby. They asked me if I wanted to study the Bible, and the funny thing is– I prayed about it two days prior to meeting them. It was the perfect opportunity, so I took it.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

After that\u2013 I started studying the Bible every single day. I was really convicted by the studies, but it was mostly because it was stuff I never learned while I was growing up as a Christian. Right then and there I decided, \u201cif this is what the Bible says, then I need to go after it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

When I lived in Florida we went to a First Baptist church, then I moved to Houston\u2013 where we went to a Vietnamese\/American Baptist church. But when we came to DFW, we did a lot of church bouncing, but it was always a Baptist church. Even in Florida they Baptized me when I was like seven, even though I didn\u2019t know what it truly meant. They never taught me about counting the cost, or about the life of a disciple.<\/p>\n

Megan: What is something you do in your spiritual journey that has strengthened your love for God?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>Honestly, just sharing my faith with people (talking about God), even though you get a lot of rejections, there\u2019s still a spiritual purpose in what we do. I\u2019m here because I love God and I want to have a relationship with him when I die. I also want to go to heaven after I pass away. Those are my goals that I keep in mind as I go about sharing my faith; I want to give people the same opportunity as me.<\/p>\n

Megan: What advice would you give someone who has started studying the Bible or is considering it?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>Just be open. Have a fresh mindset coming into the studies, because for someone like me, there was just so much I didn\u2019t know. Be willing to learn and let the scriptures mold you. After the studies\u2013 go back over the scriptures. You can learn a lot from the Bible, but only after you\u2019re willing to apply it to your life.<\/p>\n

Megan: What are some of your favorite scriptures and why?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>1 Corinthians 3:5 \u201cWhat, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe\u2013 as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.\u201d As we go about sharing our faith, we need to make sure we do it for God. We can\u2019t do this alone, or by our own strength.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Megan: Which Bible story\/book relates to you the most and why?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>Definitely Joshua. That one impacted me the most, just seeing how you can do so much but without having faith in God, or listening to his commands, you won\u2019t receive what was promised. We can have so many desires, but we don\u2019t ever receive them, because we don\u2019t follow the plan God already has in mind for us.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Megan: What do you love most about the Kingdom?<\/b><\/p>\n

Christine: <\/b>The relationships and family we have in the church (DFWICC). While I did make some friends in the Baptist churches that I went to growing up, I never really spoke to them outside of church. In the Kingdom\u2013 I see disciples everyday, I talk to them every day, we have genuine relationships. And I can call them whenever I need them.\u00a0<\/p>\n
