That is certainly true after hearing Jay &amp; Angie&#8217;s story, they were definitely made for each other.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ricky Jean~ Chief Editor<\/p>\n<p><b>Ricky: How did you two meet?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: I went to my bother&#8217;s wedding who was marrying Angie&#8217;s roommate; that was the first time we met, and actually through that wedding, the guys&#8211; that&#8217;s where I began to study the bible actually. So I was baptized maybe about a month later, maybe a little over a month later. You know, so&#8211; some of the guys in the wedding party, you know, being around the disciples really won me over you know? With their love, everybody&#8217;s kindness, and stuff like that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tribechurches.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_1134-300x176.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\"><\/p>\n<p>Angie wasn&#8217;t really mean to me or anything, she just didn&#8217;t talk to me at the wedding. But you know, after I got baptized we kinda became friends, and you know, we would go on dates, you know. Every month or so, we\u2019d go out on a date and stuff like that. We just ended up doing a lot of things together and became good friends. I was baptized in \u201894.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Angie: <\/b>So I was going to say, we were both in the singles ministry, so we were often in charge of putting events together.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Ricky<\/b>: <b>Oh, OK. How old were you back then?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: I was baptized when I was 28, and at the time I think Angie was about 30.<\/p>\n<p><b>Angie:<\/b> Yeah, I was already a disciple for a while. I became a disciple as a Sophomore in college in San Francisco, and then I went on a mission team to Portland.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ricky<\/b>: <strong>So you were single for a few years before meeting Jay as a disciple?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Angie<\/b>: Yeah I was a campus student. I was converted in campus.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: So five years.<\/p>\n<p><b>Angie<\/b>: And then yeah\u2026<\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: She was baptized in \u201889 and I was baptized in \u201894.<\/p>\n<p><b>Angie:<\/b> So yeah, when we planted the church in Portland I was&#8211; well I was in the singles ministry. I was an intern actually for the church.<\/p>\n<p><b>Ricky<\/b>: <strong>Oh really? Nice.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/tribechurches.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/IMG_0140-1-256x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"256\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: Yeah, so we would DJ parties together. We were the entertainment people.<\/p>\n<p><b>Angie<\/b>: Yeah, because we both liked music and everybody knew. So that&#8217;s something I did in the world. I was a DJ.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: This is back when you made mix tapes, that was a long time ago!<\/p>\n<p><b>Angie: <\/b>When you really&#8211; when you really used two keyboards okay. And records.<\/p>\n<p><b>Jay<\/b>: Records!
